Our Story
We got a little lost in space.
And found pickles.
It started in a cramped Earth kitchen. Now we're the galaxy's most beloved — and only — space-fermented pickle brand. Here's how that happened.
2019 — The Beginning
A brine obsession is born
Founder Zelda Quark couldn't stop making pickles. Her apartment had 47 jars at peak capacity. Her landlord was not pleased.
2021 — The Breakthrough
Zero-gravity fermentation discovered
After accidentally leaving a jar on a suborbital test flight, Zelda noticed the brine tasted 300% more complex. Science cannot explain it. We don't ask questions.
2024 — Going Cosmic
Cosmic Pickle Jar is officially launched
With a seed round of $3.2M from investors who "didn't fully understand the business but loved the pickles," CPJ went to market. Sold out in 48 hours.
The Team
Zelda Quark
Founder & Chief Brine Officer
Former astrophysicist. Current pickle alchemist. Does not accept the premise that these are separate fields.
Cosmo Dill
Head of Fermentation Science
PhD in Microbiology. Believes every problem can be solved with the right amount of salt and patience.
Briny McFarland
VP of Cosmic Logistics
Managed supply chains across 14 countries. Now manages one across 2 planets. Somehow this is harder.
What we believe
Good food takes time. Great food takes patience. Cosmic food takes three months, a low-Earth orbit, and a very understanding jar. We're committed to weird, wonderful, and delicious — in that order.
